So...Magazine

So...we started out as one student's little idea to make a big difference to the people of Southampton. Our mission is to provide readers with a feast for the eyes and good words for the soul. Through articles and interviews, So..Magazine hopes to fill the space where food and fashion come together. It’s a little bit different and not what you’d usually find on the magazine rack - but we encourage different, we like it. So...Magazine has its roots in Southampton, bringing readers stories from local businesses; designers to local bakeries. I created this magazine for my final major project at university. I designed the pages, layouts, imagery (most of) the photography, interviewed people, filmed and edited videos. I developed a print magazine as well as a live website and a prototype of an app - self teaching on multiple Adobe platforms along the way.

To add another engaging element to the website I created this moving pizza animation using After Effects.

The following shows elements of the online content: the website (desktop and mobile versions) as well as mock ups for an app. I used Muse to design the website and XD for the app.

To make my brand as authentic as possible, I also designed a mock up of what an email that is sent to subscribers might look like. Throughout the website there are plenty of opportunities for users to “subscribe” to So...Magazine - this feature would entitle them to monthly email updates giving them a preview of what to expect online and in the magazine in the coming issue.
